UrbanTrust Community Guidelines

Last updated · 26 August 2026

UrbanTrust's Community is where professionals ask questions, share what they know, give feedback, and point each other at opportunities, funding and events.

These guidelines explain what that space is for and how to take part in it. They sit alongside the UrbanTrust Terms of Use, which govern all use of the platform.

1. What the Community is for

The Community is designed for:

- asking questions; - requesting advice; - requesting feedback; - contributing knowledge; - sharing opportunities; - offering funding information; - hosting or discovering events; - other professional contributions.

It is not intended to be used primarily for harassment, personal attacks, spam, misinformation or unrelated social activity.

2. Asking well

Ask specific questions. "How should I price a revenue-share collaboration?" gets a better answer than "any advice?".

Include the detail behind the question and tag the skills it relates to, so it reaches people who work in that area.

3. Answering well

Answer what was actually asked, and say when you are giving an opinion or a guess rather than experience.

Answers are attached to your profile. Being genuinely useful in public is part of how a professional reputation is built here.

4. Disagreeing

Disagree with the idea, not the person. Direct criticism of work is welcome; personal attacks are not.

5. What does not belong here

Do not use the Community to:

- harass, threaten or demean another person; - post sexual, hateful or violent content; - spam, or repeatedly post the same message; - publish someone's private information without permission; - advertise unrelated products or services; - recruit in question threads. Start a collaboration instead; - impersonate another person or organisation; - share misleading or deliberately false information; - solicit or facilitate anything illegal.

6. Safety

UrbanTrust is intended for adults and professional activity.

Anything that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child is prohibited without exception and is handled under the UrbanTrust Child Safety Standards & Support Policy.

If something worries you, report it rather than arguing with it.

7. Reporting

Report a question, an answer or a profile from the report option on the item itself, so the report reaches moderation attached to what you saw.

Reports are reviewed against these guidelines and the Terms of Use. Safety reports are handled first.

8. Enforcement

Where these guidelines are breached, UrbanTrust may remove content, issue a warning, restrict features, suspend an account or terminate it, as set out in the Terms of Use.

Where appropriate, you may be given an opportunity to appeal a decision.

9. Changes

These guidelines may be updated as the Community develops. The current version is always available on the UrbanTrust website and in the app.
