1. Purpose

UrbanTrust is committed to maintaining a safe, professional and respectful digital environment for its users.

This Child Safety Standards & Support Policy explains UrbanTrust’s approach to protecting children and minors from sexual exploitation, abuse, grooming, inappropriate contact and other forms of child endangerment on the UrbanTrust platform.

UrbanTrust does not tolerate child sexual abuse or exploitation (CSAE), grooming, sexualization of minors, or any other conduct that places a child at risk.

2. Platform Age Requirement

UrbanTrust is a professional collaboration platform intended for adults.

Users must be at least 18 years of age to create or maintain an UrbanTrust account.

UrbanTrust does not knowingly permit children under the age of 18 to register for or use the platform as account holders.

Where UrbanTrust becomes aware that an account is being operated by a person under 18, the account may be restricted, suspended or removed.

Users must provide truthful information regarding their age when creating an account and must not misrepresent their age in order to access UrbanTrust.

3. Zero-Tolerance Child Safety Policy

UrbanTrust has a zero-tolerance approach to activities involving the sexual exploitation or abuse of children.

The following activities are prohibited on UrbanTrust:

  • Child sexual abuse or exploitation.
  • Sexual content involving or depicting minors.
  • Sexual solicitation or sexual communication involving a minor.
  • Grooming or attempts to establish a relationship with a minor for sexual purposes.
  • Requesting, encouraging, offering, distributing or possessing sexual images or material involving minors.
  • Facilitating the exploitation, trafficking or abuse of a child.
  • Using UrbanTrust to arrange or facilitate sexual contact with a minor.
  • Encouraging another person to engage in child sexual exploitation or abuse.
  • Attempting to evade UrbanTrust’s safety systems or moderation measures to facilitate prohibited conduct involving minors.

Any account or activity reasonably identified as presenting a serious child-safety risk may be immediately restricted while the matter is reviewed.

4. Prohibited Child-Safety Content

UrbanTrust prohibits content, communications, profiles, collaboration activities and other platform activity that sexualizes, exploits, abuses or endangers minors.

This prohibition applies regardless of whether the content is:

  • Public or private;
  • Uploaded directly or shared through the platform;
  • Presented as an image, video, audio, text or other media;
  • Posted as part of a collaboration, community discussion or professional activity; or
  • Intended as a joke, roleplay, solicitation or other form of communication.

UrbanTrust may remove content and take action against accounts where necessary to protect users and maintain platform safety.

5. Reporting Child Safety Concerns

Anyone may report a suspected child-safety violation involving UrbanTrust.

Reports may be submitted to:

Child Safety Team Email: safety@urbantrust.io

Reports should include, where available:

  • A description of the suspected violation;
  • The UrbanTrust username, profile or account involved;
  • Relevant collaboration, community or workspace information;
  • Links or other identifying information relating to the reported content;
  • The approximate date and time of the activity; and
  • Any additional information that may help UrbanTrust assess the concern.

A person making a report does not need to determine whether conduct legally constitutes child abuse or exploitation. If the activity appears to place a child at risk, it should be reported.

6. Response to Reports

UrbanTrust will assess child-safety reports and take appropriate action based on the nature and seriousness of the report.

Depending on the circumstances, UrbanTrust may:

  1. Review the reported account, content or activity;
  2. Restrict access to relevant content or functionality;
  3. Suspend or terminate an account;
  4. Preserve relevant information where appropriate and legally permitted;
  5. Escalate serious matters internally;
  6. Cooperate with appropriate law-enforcement or child-protection authorities where required or legally permitted; and
  7. Take additional measures necessary to protect users and prevent further abuse.

UrbanTrust may take immediate action where there is a credible or urgent safety concern.

7. Grooming and Predatory Behaviour

UrbanTrust prohibits behaviour intended to establish inappropriate or exploitative relationships with minors.

Examples may include attempts to:

  • Establish secret or inappropriate communication with a minor;
  • Request private or sexual information from a minor;
  • Encourage a minor to move communication to another platform for exploitative purposes;
  • Request sexual images or videos from a minor;
  • Arrange an inappropriate meeting with a minor; or
  • Manipulate, threaten, deceive or pressure a minor for sexual or exploitative purposes.

UrbanTrust may take action even where the intended exploitation has not yet occurred if the available information indicates a serious safety risk.

8. Safety by Design

UrbanTrust is designed primarily as a professional collaboration platform.

The platform’s professional structure, account controls, reporting mechanisms, moderation processes and safety measures are intended to reduce opportunities for abuse and inappropriate conduct.

UrbanTrust may periodically review and improve its safety systems, reporting procedures and platform controls as the service develops.

9. Account and Platform Enforcement

Violations of this policy may result in:

  • Content removal;
  • Account restrictions;
  • Temporary suspension;
  • Permanent account termination;
  • Restriction of platform functionality; and/or
  • Referral or cooperation with relevant authorities where appropriate.

UrbanTrust may take enforcement action based on credible evidence or reasonable safety concerns and is not required to wait for a criminal or regulatory determination before restricting platform access.

10. Cooperation With Authorities

Where required by applicable law, or where legally permitted and appropriate to protect a child or prevent serious harm, UrbanTrust may cooperate with law-enforcement agencies, child-protection authorities and other competent authorities.

UrbanTrust may preserve and disclose relevant information in accordance with applicable law, its privacy obligations and lawful requests from competent authorities.

11. Privacy and Confidentiality

UrbanTrust treats safety reports responsibly and limits access to reported information to personnel or service providers who reasonably require the information to investigate, respond to or manage the reported concern.

Information may be retained or disclosed where necessary to:

  • Investigate a safety incident;
  • Protect users;
  • Prevent further abuse;
  • Comply with legal obligations;
  • Respond to lawful requests; or
  • Cooperate with competent authorities.

Additional information about how UrbanTrust collects, uses and protects personal information is provided in the UrbanTrust Privacy Policy.

12. False or Malicious Reports

UrbanTrust encourages users to report genuine safety concerns in good faith.

Knowingly submitting false reports, fabricating evidence or abusing the reporting system to harass another person may result in enforcement action against the reporting account.

This provision does not prevent a person from making a report where they have a genuine concern but are uncertain whether the conduct violates the law or this policy.

13. Child Safety Contact

For child-safety concerns, reports or questions relating to the protection of minors on UrbanTrust:

Email: safety@urbantrust.io

Subject: Child Safety Report

UrbanTrust encourages urgent concerns involving the immediate safety of a child to be reported to the appropriate emergency or child-protection authority in the relevant jurisdiction in addition to notifying UrbanTrust.

14. Policy Updates

UrbanTrust may update this Child Safety Standards & Support Policy when necessary to reflect changes to the platform, applicable requirements, safety practices or legal obligations.

The latest version will be made available through the UrbanTrust website.

15. Important Legal Notice

This policy describes UrbanTrust’s child-safety standards and platform procedures. It does not replace applicable laws, regulatory requirements or the authority of law-enforcement and child-protection agencies.

UrbanTrust will apply this policy subject to applicable law and may take additional measures where necessary to protect users or comply with legal obligations.
